LMU best German university

In the Best Global Universities Rankings 2019 published by US News, LMU once again takes the top spot among the German universities listed, as in last year’s edition of the table.
As the leading German university in the list, LMU is ranked 11th in Europe and 46th in the world. The top three in this latest US News Ranking are all located in the US: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University. The 2019 compilation comprises 1250 institutions based in over 60 countries.
The Best Global Universities Rankings published by US News was issued in 2014. The assessment is based on an evaluation of 13 indicators, including research output and academic reputation. In the final score, the greatest weight is placed on numbers of research publications and citation frequencies.
