New Board of Trustees at LMU Munich

Chaired by Dr. Benedikt Franke, Vice Chair and CEO of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), the board will actively contribute to the development of the University of Excellence. The members of the Board of Trustees are appointed by the Senate for a term of three years on the recommendation of the President. The group includes both active and former politicians, scientists and cultural managers, representatives of foundations and churches, media professionals, and business experts.

“I was very keen to recruit not only supporters of LMU for the Board of Trustees, but also genuine advisors,” explains University President Matthias Tschöp. “This will enable us to benefit from expertise across a wide range of fields, and our trustees will also represent LMU externally in areas where the university has not previously had a presence.” Members who serve on the Board of Trustees do so voluntarily. “Given the demanding professions of our members, it is remarkable that they are willing to contribute their time and expertise to the affairs of LMU. For this, I am especially grateful!”
