Founders' Fireside Chat
Founders' Fireside Chat is a recurring, casual conversation format hosted by Dr. Philipp Baaske, Vice President for Entrepreneurship at LMU, and co-founder of NanoTemper, the world market leader in biophysical analysis instruments for drug discovery.
A different founder is invited to join each session. The focus is on open, unfiltered exchange. The audience has the opportunity to ask questions live and learn from the founding experiences of successful entrepreneurs. No keynotes. No slides. Just real talk. #HowIBuiltIt

Nucleate & IZB: Non-Dilutive First
You need preclinical data to raise money. You need money to generate preclinical data. Most academic teams break that loop by giving away equity too early.
On 14th October, Nucleate Germany is hosting an evening at the IZB - Innovation and Start-up Center Biotechnology in Martinsried, Munich, with two people who know the alternatives from opposite ends.
Dr. Philipp Baaske - LMU Vice President for Entrepreneurship and co-founder of Nanotemper Technologies, a LMU spin-out that grew past 150 people, profitable within two years, without raising a venture round.
Dr. Petra Burgstaller - Co-Lead Venture Creation & MAxL at BioM Biotech Cluster Deevelopment GmbH — the organisation behind the m4 Award. Bavaria's m4 funds up to €500,000 per team over two years, and you don't need a company to apply. The 2026/27 call opens this autumn.
