Spin-off Service

We support LMU scientists, as well as students, doctoral candidates, and alumni, who want to start a business or become self-employed based on their work at the university. The focus is on spin-offs – startups founded on research results.

Our Services

• Consultation: Office hours (in person, by phone, online) by appointment. To prepare for a consultation, please send us the completed short questionnaire.
• Support throughout the founding process: Regular coaching from idea to founding, with a focus on the business plan, funding opportunities, and entrepreneurial skills.
• Funding advice & project support: Assistance in selecting and applying for suitable government funding programs, as well as project support in case of a successful application.
• Support with business plan creation: Advice on key content as well as feedback on the fully developed concept.
• Business plan competitions: Recommended due to their multi-stage format and feedback from experts (e.g., BayStartUp, Science for Life).
