Non-EU citizens

When applying for subjects with an aptitude assessment procedure, identical admission requirements apply to all international students — regardless of whether or not they are citizens of countries belonging to the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA). Please note the respective registration deadlines, which unfortunately are not always synched.

Applications, admissions and registration

1. Aptitude assessment via the institute

If you want to study a subject for which you have to go through an aptitude assessment, you will be required to inform yourself in time via the respective institute. You can find out the registration dates at the respective institute!

Please note that some minor subjects also require you to pass an aptitude assessment or are subject to admission restrictions. Please check the list of subjects with aptitude assessments to see if you want to choose such a subject.

2. Admission to a degree program at LMU via the International Office

If you have passed the aptitude test at the relevant institute, it does not automatically mean that you can be registered at LMU.

For application to and registration onto your chosen degree program, you must also submit an application for admission in the form and within the deadline specified (registration) to the International Office.

Please refer to our application and registration instructions for international student applicants.

Application deadlines for admission
for the summer semester: by January 15
for the winter semester: by July 15

Please also note the dates of the German language exam:
If you miss the exam date or fail the exam, you will have to forfeit at least one semester.
