Visiting students and those in the study program for senior citizens

General information

Visiting students — generally — are registered for the individual courses they select from the LMU course catalog. Visiting students — who select their courses from the course catalog offered by the Zentrum Seniorenstudium — are registered as visiting students in the study program for senior citizens.

Fees are charged to visiting students and visiting students in the study program for senior citizens.

Upon registration, visiting students and visiting students in the study program for senior citizens do not become members of the University. They are not eligible to take any examinations.

On principle, visiting students and visiting students in the study program for senior citizens must possess the same qualification as degree students, i.e. a higher education entrance qualification or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification. Further information concerning vocationally qualified applicants can be found at Hochschulzugang für qualifizierte Berufstätige (in German).

Foreign or stateless applicants without a German higher education entrance qualification must present a qualification certificate equivalent to a German higher education entrance qualification. They must also show an adequate knowledge of the German language.
