Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (EBI/BDW)

Are you looking to generate and capture greater competitiveness in a data-driven corporate finance environment? The Munich School of Management at LMU - one of the leading universities for Business Administration in Europe - offers a unique summer program for students from around the world. From the perspectives of a business as well as a financial analyst, we will focus on key corporate finance topics such as mergers and acquisitions combined with business intelligence in Power BI.

Aim of the Course
We will cover the deal process, financial due diligence and related valuation topics. Using Microsoft Power BI you will learn to describe, model and explore data and create dashboards to improve economic decision-making in the transaction process.

- To introduce students to corporate finance concepts as key drivers of strategic decision- making. Participants learn to evaluate determinants and consequences of mergers and acquisitions.

- To apply advanced corporate finance concepts such as assessment of sustainable earnings, cost of capital and business valuation models. Participants are able to critically assess assumptions inherent in stock prices.

- To develop data models using PowerBI in order to derive key insights into the transaction process. Powerful visualization tools and scenario analyses allow for a better understanding of key performance drivers of the underlying business model. Especially important for managers, analysts and investors.
