First-year students’ welcome event 2025
Take part in the welcome event for first year students in LMU’s Lichthof (atrium) and begin your first winter semester in the company of your fellow students!
Welcome to LMU!
The new LMU semester kicks off in traditional style with a welcome event for first-year students. Information booths on the subject of studying will be open in the morning and afternoon before the President of LMU Munich Matthias Tschöp will issue a warm welcome to all first-year students.
In addition to the president's address, the program includes welcome speeches by:
- Dr. Philipp Baaske, Vice President for Entrepreneurship
- Prof. Dr. Francesca Biagini, Vice President for Mathematics and Computer Sciences
- Dr. Margit Weber, Vice President for Equity, Talent Management and Diversity
- Prof. Dr. Armin Nassehi, Vice President for Law, Economics and Social Sciences & Deputy LMU President
- Charles Faßbinder and Raffaele Gelo, representatives of the student council executive committee (StuVe)
Music and drinks will be laid on after that, giving people the chance to talk and get to know each other as an eventful day draws to a close.
