Online Workshop
This course seeks to improve speaking skills for academic and other professional situations, as well as for more casual environments. We will practice advanced English conversation skills and will seek to expand range of vocabulary and overall expressive ability in a variety of formal and informal settings. A range of interesting topics will invite all participants to activate and improve their language skills in a dynamic environment. Additionally, attendees currently working on presentations or on written work in English can bring ongoing work to the workshops where we can address some specific questions as part of the course.
Seminar Content
The seminar will include a range of activities such as: role play exercises to activate spoken English, structured classroom debates on current event topics, reading and discussing short essays or newspaper articles, targeted language exercises as needed.
Lecturer
Anne-Marie Hodges, M.A., educated in the U.S. and in Germany, is a teacher of English at the Fremdspracheninstitut in Munich. She has also worked as a lecturer of English at both the LMU and the TU Munich. Prior to that she spent many years working in the business world in the field of international marketing. In addition to teaching language and cultural communication, she also teaches Yoga, Yoga philosophy and recitation in Sanskrit.
Target Group
The course is aimed at Bachelor's and Master's students or students before their first state examination (teaching, law) and up to and including the third section of the medical examination in the second stage of medical studies. Maximum of 8 participants.
