Research & Network

The GSN is woven into one of Europe's most dynamic neuroscience ecosystems, spanning universities, clinical centres, and research institutes across Munich and beyond, giving students and investigators access to the right expertise, wherever their scientific questions lead.

The Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences is embedded within the Munich-wide neuroscience network and operates under the umbrella of the Munich Center for Neurosciences (MCN-LMU), linking research, teaching and outreach across local universities and research centers.

The network includes:

  • Academic research groups across neuroscience disciplines
  • Clinical partners enabling translational perspectives
  • International collaborations with partner institutions

Our research network is deliberately distributed: the core collaborations include university departments and centers at LMU and TUM, as well as major research institutes Helmholtz Center Munich and Max Planck Society (such as the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence and the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry).

Thematic hubs complement the landscape from BCCN Munich to DZNE Munich and SyNergy Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology to name a few.

The distributed structure brings together complementary expertise and infrastructure across institutions, creating a collaborative environment that supports interdisciplinary, systems-level research.
