Alumni & Career Pathways

The measure of a graduate school is not only the quality of its training – it is what its graduates go on to do. With over 580 alumni now active across the globe, the GSN's impact reaches far beyond Munich. Our graduates are leading research groups, founding companies, shaping policy, and communicating science to the world.

Professionally, research remains the most common path, with one in three alumni (33%) working in research roles, followed by education (22%) and engineering (9%).

Their core skills reflect the rigour of their training: data analysis (42%), Python programming (40%), and research skills (37%) are the most commonly listed competencies, alongside neuroscience expertise itself (35%).
