GSN-LMU and MCN-LMU celebrate Graduation Day and 20th Anniversary

10 Jul 2026

On July 10th, 2026, the Graduate School of Neuroscience (GSN-LMU) and Munich Center for Neurosciences - Brain & Mind (MCN-LMU) came together for a landmark occasion: Graduation Day, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of both institutions.

The ceremony honoured the newest cohort of graduates, marking the culmination of years of study and research. It was a moment to recognise individual achievement, but also to reflect on the collective journey that brought each graduate to this milestone. We hope they will carry this day with them as one to remember.

The anniversary gave the celebration an added dimension, offering the entire GSN and MCN community - faculty past and present, current students, and alumni - an opportunity to reflect on two decades of scientific discovery, mentorship, and academic excellence. Since their founding, both institutions have trained generations of neuroscientists who have gone on to make their mark in academia, industry, and beyond, advancing our understanding of the brain and building a vibrant, far-reaching research network.

The day brought together a community united by curiosity and a shared commitment to science. From those who have shaped the institutions from the very beginning to the graduates taking their first steps into the next chapter, the anniversary was a testament to what two decades of dedication can build and an inspiration for what lies ahead.
