Programs & Tracks
The GSN offers a range of programs and tracks in systemic neuroscience from master's to doctoral level. Accommodating students from various backgrounds in the life sciences, our structured yet flexible pathways are designed to train the next generation of neuroscientists.
The GSN teaching concept is designed to offer:
- an optimally structured and student-centered teaching program in English,
- comprehensive and state-of-the-art scientific training supported by the exceptionally broad scope of research associated with the Munich Center for Neurosciences - Brain & Mind,
- individual training agreements that ensure common ground and adequate subject-specific training,
- ECTS-based grading, fully compatible with the Bologna System,
- coherent combination of scientific and complementary skills,
- various options for lab rotations with collaborating Munich institutions, such as the Technische Universität München, Max-Planck-Institutes, and Helmholtz Center Munich as well as their international research partners, and
- an international network for future careers in academia for graduates, Ph.D. students, and postdocs.
Opportunities for undergraduates
A career in neuroscience begins long before graduate school. Whether you are still in your bachelor's or even high school, exploring research for the first time, or simply curious about brain science, the GSN offers meaningful entry points to build experience and connect with our community.
Internships at GSN
The GSN does not offer formal internships, but many of our faculty members welcome direct enquiries from motivated students. If you are interested in getting involved with a specific lab, we encourage you to reach out independently. A well-crafted, personalised email to a faculty member whose research excites you is always the best first step.
