LMU Teams

As part of the consolidation of the various tools offered, LMU has decided to discontinue the operation of LMU Teams as of January 12, 2026. We would like to inform you about this in the following.

Functions

As an alternative, we can offer you the following tools:

  • Confluence-BayernCollab (https://collab.dvb.bayern)
Description:Confluence and BayernCollab are suitable as wiki systems for collaborative knowledge documentation and work organization; the tool is used in various areas (science, administration), e.g., for use as a lab notebook.
    Support: confluence.support@verwaltung.uni-muenchen
  • Moodle (https://moodle.lmu.de)
Description: LMU Munich uses the free learning platform system Moodle to support and conduct digitally assisted courses. Moodle enables you to design digital learning scenarios for a variety of use cases.
    Support: moodle.lmu.de/kontakt

Specifically, two steps are planned for the shutdown of LMU Teams:

1) Since October 1, 2025, LMU Teams has only been available in read-only mode. For you, this means that you can still access your content, but no new content can be created. We are offering you this transition period so that you can transfer your content and documents to the new tool.

2) LMU Teams will then be shut down on January 12, 2026, meaning you will no longer have access to it.
