Health insurance

b) Student applicants, who are privately insured with a health insurance company in Germany or are dependents (covered under a plan with their parents, one parent or spouse), must submit their confirmation of private health insurance coverage to a statutory health insurance company in order to receive this formal proof of health insurance coverage mentioned above.

Proof of health insurance coverage for the continuation of registration

Students do not generally need to submit proof of health insurance coverage for the continuation of registration.

Exceptions

If there are any changes to a student`s health insurance coverage while he or she is registered at the University (e.g. changing health insurance companies, canceling or changing the type of health insurance coverage), he or she must immediately notify the Office of the University Registrar and submit a current formal proof of health insurance coverage. Otherwise the student`s continuation of registration will be denied resulting in his or her exmatriculation ex officio!
