Students who experience discrimination can contact LMU's counseling and outreach services. In confidential discussions, counselors can provide you with information concerning formal procedures and advise on possible courses of action.
Anti-discrimination and conflict officers advise and support students who — at the hands of another LMU community member — have experienced a violation of their personal rights, in particular due to discriminatory behavior on the grounds of race or ethnic origin, gender, religion or beliefs, disability, age, or sexual identity.

The Munich Student Union (Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern) offers students the opportunity to seek advice on the topics of sexual harassment, discrimination and violence, as well as studying with a disability or chronic illness. In addition, the psychosocial service of the Student Union Munich provides support in dealing with challenging situations.

Intercultural Counseling assists international students with any culture-specific issues related to their studies that may be causing them difficulties or negatively impacting their academic success and wellbeing.
International students can contact Intercultural Counseling in the event of any breaches to the National Code for Studying Abroad at German Universities. The code aims to maintain and further improve the quality of support for international students. The central idea is to give international students the same rights as German students, and to offer them any help they might need.

In accordance with the Policy for Preventing, Protecting against, and Dealing with Cases of Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Assault at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, a complaint about misconduct in accordance with § 3 of this policy can be submitted to the complaints office of LMU at antidiskriminierung@lmu.de. Alternatively, the complaint can also be made verbally to the complaints office for the record. The person lodging the complaint may, if they wish, be accompanied by a person of trust in accordance with Section 6 (3) of the policy for the oral complaint.
